What we evaluate
Historical significance, atmosphere, distinctiveness, music, drink, food, location, practical usability and how clearly the pub delivers the experience it promises.
What our scores mean
Editorial fit scores are not customer-review averages. They express how strongly a venue fits its stated “best for” category within this guide.
Source hierarchy
We prioritise official venue information, official tourism bodies, heritage organisations and direct editorial review. Third-party reviews can reveal patterns but are not copied as fact.
Independence
No pub has paid for inclusion in Version 1.0. Affiliate and sponsored fields are disabled. Any future commercial relationship will be disclosed and will not purchase an editorial score.
Corrections
Send factual corrections through the contact page. Material corrections will be reviewed and dated.
Update standard
Evergreen identity and history are reviewed separately from volatile details such as hours, menus and event schedules. Visitors are always directed to confirm volatile details directly.
